USA – Day 21 – NYC

NYC
Day 21

Woke up early but left the apartment only at midday. Took the subway train straight to Brooklyn high street. Wandered around the promenade area on both sides of the Brooklyn bridge. Brooklyn heights and the dumbo area. Had a hot chocolate and cookies at One Girl Cookie. So good!!

My original plan was to have lunch at Grimaldi’s pizza place, but it had a long queue going around the block.

Headed to grand central station at about 5pm. Took photos and wandered around the station. So many tourists clicking away.
Decided to visit the Empire State Building after Grand Central instead of the evening as I had planned. It was busy but the queues were not very long. Didn’t spend much time up there – way too many people up there to really take in the views, everyone trying to get a ‘front row’ spot to take photographs.

Tried Korean food for the first time at Cho Dang Gol. The restaurant was in Korea Town which happened to be a couple blocks from the Empire State building.  The prices were high, but the meal portions were huge and each dish can easily be shared between 2 – 4 people depending how large your appetite is. Was hoping that Arti would join me for dinner, but instead I had dinner by myself. I was impressed by the food. It was delicious and spicy and so different from anything I’ve ever tasted before. Carol would have enjoyed all the tofu choices.
