USA – Day 8 – Boston

It was a rushed morning. Des has a lot to do before she leaves for work – make sure Livvy gets out of bed and ready for school, make her mom breakfast and get her dressed, let the dogs out, feed them, prepare lunch for herself and get ready for her day at work. We left the house at about 7:40am to get to Springfield to catch my 8:15 bus. I made it onto the bus with a couple of minutes to spare! Cut it very close.
The bus to Boston was uneventful. It arrived at South Station on time. I like that there is wi-fi on the bus which helps pass the time. My hosts in Boston – Alliz and Tutti, both musicians, studying and working at the Berklee College of Music. Alliz was really sweet enough to meet me at the station. I’m glad because the T is quite confusing for a first timer in Boston. Bought a 7 day pass which you can use on busses, ferries, trains for $22.

We headed back to her and Tutti’s apartment on south Huntington ave near Jamaica plain. It’s a lovely little one bedroom. Tutti and Alliz are too kind and set me up in the bedroom. Alliz cooked us some brunch eggs with fried tortillas and cheese.

After chilling a little we headed out. I’m not sure of all the places we visited but it included Berklee college of music one of the best music schools in the world (which is where Alliz and Tutti work and study), Copley Square, Newbury street where there awesome boutiquey shops. We stopped for real deal hot chocolate at LA Burdick. $5.5 for a small cup which was just right! I tried a Madagascan hot choc. Other places we walked to were Boston commons, the swan pond, fenuheil hall with tons of food stalls, to the harbour area.
Did some shopping at trader joes, bought some Lismore single malt for $20 and spent the evening chilling. Alliz cooked a delicious risotto and I caught up on some eps of game of thrones.
