Since returning to JHB, I’ve…

Since returning to JHB, I've been feeling neither here or there or anywhere. Feeling like I don't belong anywhere in particular. That there is no reason for me to be anywhere. I just if I could would want to cease to exist.

This morning I'm driving to work, stopped at a traffic light waiting to turn left into Harrison Street.  A taxi driver pulls up next to me then just goes through the red traffic light with oncoming cars from the other direction.  It really scared me, that these taxi drivers in South Africa have no common sense, no sense of safety for themselves or the people that they transport. They just don't care, nevermind for the law, but their own safety and the safety of their passengers.

After turning into Harrison Street, before turning into Commissioner Street I see a guy on the side of the road (not on the sidewalk) with shampoo on his head. A guy is helping him wash his hair, using water from a little puddle near the sidewalk.  Where is this I think?? The countryside, some rural town, some impoverished, war-zone city?? No, Johannesburg City Centre.  Crazy… just crazy.
