Dad reneges

After 6 months, Dad undoes everything we tried to do to keep mum safe from herself and him. Instead of moving on with this life in PMB, he and her would phone each other several times a day. Despite our pleas to not visit until mum is properly settled, he visited in August. Then his 2nd visit in September around Heritage Day weekend was a disaster. Mum was drunk the entire time and he didn’t speak / engage with anyone except her. Mum’s drinking escalated. Then on 3rd November, he drove up to Joburg and took her back to PMB.…

Couples counselling

We had our first couples counselling session today. FUCK! I knew it was going to be hard, but man, is it hard! Emotionally gut-wrenching intense. I cried a lot. Opening pandora’s box is scary. No one can tell where this will lead.

reflection

1) What is your highest aspiration for your own spiritual development? To Be. To realise Self. To access the highest energy from Source. To transcend this mind and emotions felt by this physical body. To know that we are ONE with all. To love with an open heart, free of judgement. To accept and forgive. The final adoption process hurdle

On 13th April 2022, I psyched myself up to spend several hours at the Department of Home Affairs in Randburg. The queue was long. I was prepared for the stand out in the sun and wait queue. Thankfully I was blessed with Jaime’s new birth certificate. Abridged and Unabridged. On the unabridged birth certificate it has her name and our names as her parents. A wonderful feeling. Five years and a couple months after she was first matched with us.

Girls Skate

We started skateboarding lessons last month. Sharne, the founder of Girls Skate South Africa built an amazing private skate park at her home. *so cool! We go on a Sunday morning. At first only Jaime and I went to the lessons. After two weeks Carol decided that she would also like to join us for lessons. Carol hasn’t been on a skateboard before this and so it was really fun to have her join us. Jamie also seemed quite excited to have both her Mamas with her. We each have a skateboard and safety gear including elbow pads, knee guards,…
